Revalation of a Fallen Angel

Left in darkness all alone
I knew love and happiness existed
but I couldn't seem to feel it
There was a light that shone above
it seemed too far reach

Ever since I could remember
I have been in this hole
It felt like I was born here
But I know I must have once lived in the light

Loneliness felt like my only friend
Though i knew that could not be true

A bright light flickered in the darkness
And when I'd touch it
it would feel like hope
But how would one know how hope really feels like
if they never experienced it before?

The light above seemed to mock me
Sadness and hatred grew inside me
but it quickly turned into deep sorrow
And when I felt that sorrow
I knew I had changed fate...

The blue fire...
The light had grown
Alas, I knew it was not just light
but was the embodiment of my sadness

I felt ashamed
that the light which felt like hope to me
was really my tortured soul
The very thing that felt comforting and familiar

This mirror image of my soul
slowly engulfed my empty shell
and formed into wings of false hope on my back
They were not white
But as gray as the sky on a foggy morning

I flew through the darkness
to the light
It felt warm and comforting
My wings grew darker
and turned as black as the endless pit below me
as I got closer

Feeling the separation of my soul and redemption
now knowing that I could never be fully part of the light
and showing that I was eternally scared as a sign of my corruption
I knew now that my sadness and loneliness
was permanently part of my life and who i was...
